Frequently Asked Questions
How much will my collection sell for?
Offers depend on the cards, condition, authenticity, and current market demand. Send us photos and a description so we can review your collection.
What is your commission rate?
Commission rates, if applicable, are discussed before any consignment agreement. Direct purchase offers are different from consignment.
What types of collections do you accept?
We review Pokémon singles, graded cards, sealed products, and mixed collections. Acceptance depends on condition, authenticity, and demand.
How long does it take to sell my collection?
Timing varies by collection and selling method. We can discuss expected timelines after reviewing your items.
How do I get paid?
Payment methods and timing are confirmed in writing before any transaction or consignment begins.
What if my collection is too expensive for live auctions?
High-value items may be better suited to a direct offer, a fixed-price listing, or another agreed sales approach instead of a live auction.
What happens if I have fake cards?
We do not knowingly purchase or sell counterfeit cards. Items that cannot be authenticated may be declined.
Do you take any languages other than English, Japanese, and Chinese?
You can ask us about cards in other languages. We review them individually depending on the item and available market information.
What if I have a vintage booster box or vintage booster packs?
We are interested in reviewing vintage sealed products. Please share clear photos of the packaging and seals; authenticity and condition must be evaluated before an offer.
SHILL BIDDING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
Shill bidding means placing bids to artificially increase an auction price without a genuine intention to purchase.
CARD THEORY has zero tolerance for shill bidding. It violates fair-auction practices and may violate Whatnot’s rules. Suspected shill bidding may result in removal from CARD THEORY sales and may be reported to the platform.

Mystery Slab
Take a chance on the unknown. Every CARD THEORY Mystery Slab contains one randomly selected, professionally graded Pokémon card. Our planned mystery collection features slabs with individual estimated market values from $20 to $500 — including the chance to uncover a premium chase slab.
What will you pull? The Pokémon, card, grading company, grade and value are a surprise. A higher-value card is not guaranteed. If your slab has an estimated market value of $20–$30 (inclusive), we’ll include one randomly selected sealed Pokémon booster pack at no additional charge. Pack set and contents will vary.
Packed, Shuffled & Selected at Random
Every CARD THEORY Mystery Slab is individually packaged and placed into our mystery bin. After packing, we thoroughly mix and shuffle the slabs together so each one stays a surprise. When an order comes in, one packaged slab is selected at random from the bin — no handpicking specific cards, grades, or values.
Slab market values in the planned pool range from $20 to $500. Slabs valued at $20–$30 (inclusive) also come with one random sealed Pokémon booster pack at no additional charge.
- One encapsulated, professionally graded Pokémon card per mystery slab
- Planned slab value range: $20–$500, subject to verification of the final pool
- Slabs valued at $20–$30 (inclusive) include one bonus random sealed Pokémon booster pack
- Bonus pack set and contents are random and not guaranteed
- Random selection; no specific card, grade or value guaranteed
- Final pool quantities, value tiers, odds and valuation date will be published before sales open
Preview listing — not available for purchase. Market values can change and may differ from resale proceeds. The advertised minimum will apply only after each included slab has been verified to meet it. No purchase or payment is available on this prototype.
